There are many young families in the area who are in the early stages of homeschooling. To meet their needs for support, information, friendship, and encouragement, we are going to have a time of community one Saturday a month, beginning August 29, 2026. We will begin with Pastor McCall leading a Matins service at 10:00am, then the group will have a “Morning Time” where we look at a piece of art, sing a folksong, etc., and Dana McCall will say a few words about the vision for the group. Afterwards will be a time for socializing ending with a potluck lunch (at noon).
You are all welcome to come! You can come for all of it or just for the Matins service, whatever you’d like! Also, please think about the people in your life to see if there is someone you’d like to invite. We are hoping to reach those homeschooling or even simply considering homeschooling. There is no commitment involved. Dana will give more information about ideas for the group on that Saturday but she’ll tell you that we do hope to do some fun outings occasionally. We also would like to have a monthly Mothers’ Education Book Club where the moms read books together about parenting, educational philosophy, etc. This will probably be a virtual meeting because of being spread out or a hybrid where a group can meet in person and then those who can’t will be able to come via Zoom. There is a flyer below. Please feel free to share it. Printed ones are also available at church for you to take.
Above all please pray for this endeavor! We hope to be able to love and serve our community through this!
